Last workshop in Estonia - 3. - 7. 7. 2023

The international Workshop which started the closing stage of the Learning Programme ‘Make Change Yourselves: Turning Challenges to Your Advantage! co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union,’ was held from the 3rd until the 7th July. This time the event was hosted by the Diaconia of Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Workshop Programme focused on participatory evaluation by the participants. The participants shared the experiences from the reciprocal visits of their co-learning exchange. They commented that the days were full of diverse activities which supported their peer learning by sharing first-hand experience and reflection on practice with marginalised young people. The second day was focussed on debriefing of the mini project - sharing their experience with the young people during the course of working for change in the youth work and the community.  Most of the participants were on the way with the preparation of the mini project, whereas  some of were still in the ongoing stage of developing the idea of a project.
They evaluated their learning gains and the subsequent changes in their practice with marginalised young people. The Workshop days were an exciting mixture of mutual sharing, discussions and group work. This event, which included a visit to Harkujärve community church, close to Tallinn and also shared a presentation about Peeteli church, which is in Tallinn and especially on the history of the work with street children which started in the 1990’s. The final session of the Workshop worked on the plans for the finalisation of the project and the production of new material by the participants.
Good atmosphere of the workshop we can see the from the feedback from the participants shared very positive feedback from the meeting - for example: ‘Good sharing and openness - what we did together’, or ´Exchanging of information and professional approach´.  Participants saw the group sharing  about the difficulties and challenges as the most important aspect of the workshop.
